Shimmer Brick is a great way to bring out the
natural glow in your skin
How to apply:
To apply, you'll need a brush with a nice full head like my Face Blender Brush, which will help to evenly disperse shimmer. Lightly sweep the brush over all five bars of the Shimmer Brick and gently tap to remove excess. Brush high on the cheekbones and then on areas where light naturally hits the face (forehead, nose, chin).
Multi-use:
You can use a little bit on to your collarbone to accentuate.
You can also use the single brick colour as eyeshadow
And use the bright white highlight on to the inner corners of the eyes as well as on to your brow bone to give a good defined highlight.
To Avoid:
To Avoid:
To avoid looking too shimmery, use a light hand and stop after applying one layer of Shimmer Brick to look in the mirror. Remember, it's always easier to build shimmer than to tone it down.
The packaging for this product is
sleek with the general white on black that most cosmetic companies use. When
you open it up the 'brick' effect is just gorgeous and enticed me into using
it. I really love the range of bronzing shades in this pack and together they give
a great sun kissed shimmer.
This is a beautiful highlighter.
Bobbi brown shimmer bricks are one of my favourite highlighters. I love this
all year round but especially in the summer. I wear this on my cheekbones and I
love putting it along my collarbone. I love how it gives me elegant glow and
elevates my cheekbones. There are a lot of dupes out there but I think nothing
comes close to the real product. The formula is soft, buttery and the sheen is
very subtle.
The Soap & Glory Shimmer Brick comes within a good sized round, plastic compact that is slim with
a large disc of product and a mirror for convenience. Although plastic it is
sturdy and should survive a good few knocks in a handbag and/or regular
travelling if you are a jet setter.
This mosaic style bronzer has a beautiful array
of colours and swirled together on a thick brush, it gives the perfect
sun-kissed effect. You have to use a very, very, very light hand this with
because it does have a disco ball finish. It’s a shimmer wheel presentation that has four
different wedges. Take away the wedge design and put them into strips and you’d
basically have a Bobbi Brown Shimmer brick but one with way more shimmer and
sparkle.
The overall texture is soft and finely milled.
As someone with enlarged pores this is not really a product I should use as a
blush as I find the shimmer particles settle into said problem and exaggerate
it. On the plus side it doesn't cling to any dry areas, wears well, blends with
ease and offers enough colour saturation for even the deepest complexion.
I like the often tongue in cheek product names
and the retro, pin up models used within the Cute, flirty and fun which is how
I would sum the brand up on the whole.
It is available in two shades here in the UK - Bronze
Glow and Rose Glow. It is packaged within
a black, square plastic compact with a clear lid. The palette is made up of
five different shimmer strips, which can be used individually or
altogether. The packaging is
slim, sturdy and compact.
Alongside the 3rd and 4th bronzy hued strips,
there is a white shimmery shade, which is perfect as a brow bone highlight, a
rose gold and a taupe brown. If you blend you brush all over the palette, it
creates a very subtle pink bronze shade, which works a treat at warming up the
complexion when applied with a large, fluffy bronzer brush. If you use large
brush lighting over the palette, the shimmery effect is quite subtle in that it
gives more of a sheen than a shimmer.
The texture of the powder is smooth and silky
but not powdery. The colour pay off is quite good and you only need to brush
the surface slightly to get a healthy dose of bronze on the cheeks. There is no
glittery fallout from the product and the shimmer doesn’t migrate
to other areas of the face as it wears.
